Konica Minolta Launches CS Remote Care For Remote System Support

Milton Keynes UK, 25 June 2007 - Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd has launched CS Remote Care, a remote monitoring, reporting and diagnostics service for the Konica Minolta range of bizhub multifunctional imaging systems. CS Remote Care provides a link from the customer’s bizhub system to the Konica Minolta customer service centre via e-mail or GPRS modem.

CS Remote Care provides many benefits for customers, saving time, increasing productivity and ensuring maximum uptime for bizhub systems. CS Remote Care eliminates routine tasks for the customer such as toner ordering and meter reading. Via CS Remote Care the bizhub system notifies Konica Minolta when toner needs reordering so the customer never runs-out or over orders. Meter readings are also automated ensuring accurate and timely billing

Regular servicing is also managed by CS Remote Care. All Konica Minolta bizhub systems have a Preventative Maintenance (PM) programme, for servicing at set intervals, involving cleaning and replacement of consumable parts such as rollers, to maintain high output quality. CS Remote Care informs Konica Minolta when a PM service is due and what parts are required.

In addition to routine servicing the CS Remote Care Alert Module provides ongoing monitoring of system performance, adjusting settings constantly to maintain quality levels. Any problems detected such as increasing paper misfeeds, are reported by CS Remote Care so that Konica Minolta is aware of potential technical issues before they become apparent to the customer. The remote diagnostics used by CS Remote Care can detect possible component failure, request a service engineering visit and advise of the correct replacement parts, all automatically. This ensures that minor faults do not result in system failures, increasing machine uptime and extending the operational life of the device.

CS Remote Care requires no additional software and is completely secure using GPRS and e-mail security protocol technology to communicate. Only data from the bizhub systems operation and control memory is utilised and there is no contact with data in the image memory, image processor or hard disk.
