DAYTON, Ohio – Kanzaki Specialty Papers, Inc., a world-class provider of direct thermal paper, has entered into an agreement with NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) to license NCR’s simultaneous two-sided thermal paper technology. This license gives Kanzaki the ability to make, use and sell NCR’s patented two-sided thermal paper worldwide.
“As a worldwide leading manufacturer of communication papers, we at Kanzaki believe two-sided thermal paper will offer the customer an innovative way to promote products by delivering on-demand promotional messages,” said Steve Hefner, president and chief executive officer of Kanzaki Specialty Papers, Inc.
Applications for two-sided thermal printing include, but are not limited to, point-of-sale receipts, ATM statement printing and banking receipts, event ticketing, lottery and gaming tickets, and self-service kiosk applications including airline boarding passes.
“As a worldwide leader in its field, Kanzaki has the global reach and industry depth to accelerate the adoption of two-sided printing technology,” said Peter Dorsman, vice president and general manager of NCR’s Systemedia Division, a leading provider of printer consumables. “We expect Kanzaki to emerge as a major supplier of two-sided thermal paper to the market.”
