Innominate to deliver industrial security products for remote services via internet...
Würzburg / Berlin, 05.09.2007 – Koenig & Bauer (KBA), one of the leading global manufacturers of printing presses, and Innominate Security Technologies, the German industrial security expert, have signed a framework contract to equip KBA’s presses with internet-based remote technology. Innominate’s mGuard products will allow the secure and cost-efficient remote maintenance of KBA presses via the internet.
With its broad product range, KBA is one of the largest press manufacturers in the world and has been deploying remote diagnosis and remote maintenance using modem connections for a number of years. The company exports 83 per cent of its products, making remote maintenance and 24-hour online service via the telephone or ISDN an essential part of the service offering.
Andreas Birkenfeld, divisional manager for systems technology at KBA, says: “Our customers require a high standard of press reliability as well as quick and secure remote maintenance solutions should problems arise. With the ground-breaking internet remote service package from Innominate our customer service will become even more efficient and secure. The increased bandwidth of internet connections is paving the way for expanded services through remote maintenance. For us, providing recognised security standards is essential and a key part of our press offerings.”
Innominate is one of the leading manufacturers of security products for industrial applications and the first to bring remote maintenance via the internet to the manufacturing sector. Joachim Fietz, Innominate CEO, says: “Internet-based remote maintenance offers international machine and plant builders significant cost advantages and a competitive edge. Forward-looking services such as online training based on video over IP and services on demand can be supported by mGuard technology."
