PLASMON AND GFT INBOXX FORMALISE PATNERSHIP TO DELIVER EFFICIENT EMAIL ARCHIVING
Joint Solution Assists Compliance with Corporate Policies and Regulations for Record Retention
GFT inboxx, the email archiving specialist, has announced that it has achieved partnership certification from Plasmon, (LSE:PLM), the trusted source in archiving solutions. The companies’ partnership is designed to help businesses meet the increasing challenges of email management by providing a combined archiving solution that addresses the three greatest email management issues: efficiency, cost reduction and regulatory compliance.
The GFT inboxx email archiving server and hyparchiv backbone has been fully tested and certified with Plasmon’s UDO Archive Appliance. GFT inboxx streamlines email server operations for Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes environments by archiving older content to Plasmon’s UDO Archive Appliance. The UDO Archive Appliance provides transparent access to all archived content using secure WORM (Write Once Read Many) storage technology. This robust, revision-secure architecture facilitates regulatory compliance through unmatched data authenticity and longevity.
Supporting both file system and email archiving applications, the combined solution enables companies to use the forward thinking unified archiving approach by managing enterprise archive repositories including documents, email, ERP data and imaging assets. The easy to use and powerful asset management capabilities of inboxx and hyparchiv are complemented by the simple network-attached design of the UDO Archive Appliance, which delivers long-term asset retention far superior to magnetic disk and tape storage.
“GFT inboxx provides a comprehensive range of email and document management functionalities,” said Steve Tongish, director of marketing EMEA at Plasmon. “Their application is an excellent complement for Plasmon's UDO Archive Appliance. GFT's European focus is a huge strength and the fact that they support Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange and SMTP-based platforms is unique in this market. GFT inboxx knows the market well and is a proactive, forward-thinking organisation so we’re delighted that they have completed certification with our archive solutions, and we look forward to working with them.”
The ease-of-archiving philosophy of GFT inboxx guarantees a smooth deployment. With predefined email archiving policies and a very powerful administration interface, installation is normally completed in a single day.
“Email is now so critical to business operations that it’s impossible to imagine how we could do our jobs without it,” said Bernd Hoeck, director of international marketing at GFT inboxx. “Our partnership with Plasmon means that we can now help customers make the most out of existing email infrastructure, ensuring the future stability of mail servers and allowing us to address customers’ compliance concerns head-on. Plasmon’s easy to install archiving appliances fit perfectly into our ease-of-archiving philosophy.”
