Mobile data solutions specialist, Codegate has announced the launch of mobilelogistics, a shrinkwrapped solution designed to support the dynamic services offered by companies operating in the transport and logistics sector.
Demand for logistics is on the rise due to the ever increasing level of online purchasing. This in turn offers more opportunities for smaller companies to take a share in this massive industry. However in order to compete with the major players, smaller companies need to deliver the same service levels but the cost of the required technology often makes this prohibitive.
As a highly flexible shrinkwrapped solution mobilelogistics offers logistics companies a competitively priced solution. Running on rugged mobile computers, mobilelogistics is a fully managed and hosted solution that offers a vast range of functionality, including the ability to scan serial numbers and barcodes, capture digital images and signatures, manage incorrect deliveries, re-schedule failed deliveries and take unplanned collections, all in real time. Vehicle tracking, route navigation and delivery receipt printing are also available.
“We developed mobilelogistics as we saw a gap in the market for a shrinkwrapped tailorable solution that could be rapidly deployed and easily upgraded as business demands change,” explains Terran Churcher, Managing Director at Codegate. “Most solutions on the market today are bespoke or semi-bespoke and require a large amount of expensive customisation. mobilelogistics is different.”
With the ability to capture serial numbers, mobilelogistics enables items to be allocated to the customer at the point of delivery allowing companies to accurately document to whom an individual item has been delivered. Loading and unloading time is also reduced. Applications such as vehicle tracking, route navigation and delivery receipt printing are available to support these activities.
“Additionally using mobilelogistics, drivers are able to pick up and label returns or exchanges at the point of delivery and can even sell additional items. This dynamic flexibility will enable businesses to save time and money as well as help them to reduce their carbon footprint,” concluded Churcher.
