Students and industry as a whole to benefit from closer collaboration between Quark and NPSC...
LONDON - February 15, 2006
Quark Inc. today announced that it is to become a major sponsor for the National Skills Printing Centre (NSPC), a business division of Leicester College, based in the UK. The sponsorship is part of Quark's educational commitment to ensure that students are equipped with the necessary design, production, printing, and multimedia skills to thrive in today's dynamic and competitive industry.
"The National Printing Skills Centre does a fantastic job in training the design, prepress, press, and multimedia professionals of tomorrow, and also in updating and enhancing the skills of today's workforce," said Ed Ewing, Quark sales director for Northern Europe. "We want to support the NPSC as much as possible in these endeavours and look forward to working together."
"QuarkXPress has been the market leader for page layout for many years and as such is the preferred page layout software of the NPSC," said Carolyn Rees, NPSC Manager. "We teach Quark software across our full range of courses at the NPSC and believe that having the opportunity to work even more closely with Quark will benefit our students and the industry as a whole."
As part of the sponsorship, the latest version of QuarkXPress will be installed on computers across all of the NPSC and in other areas within Leicester College. QuarkXPress will also be tightly integrated into all of the relevant courses at the NPSC, including National Diploma in Graphic Design, Print, and Media; Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Print Production; and various other evening and short, intensive courses offered by the NPSC. The NPSC will also join the QuarkAlliance Authorised Training Centre program and work with Quark to ensure its students are fully up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in the industry.
